Kde su error

when i try to start YAST from the K menu i get the following message

Su returned with an error. in a pop up alert box

Yast works fine when i start it with yast2 from teh cconsole (afte using su)

kdesu seem to be broked for everyting
eg
kdesu ksysguard gives the same error (i use that a lot for renicing processes as if you increace a nice level temporarly as a normal user
you cant change it back!)

also i use KDESU to run NVIDIA-settings to modify my graphics card setup.

does anyone know what is causing this and how i could go about fixing it

See if you can remember what you were doing when this started (installing or removing something with YaST) (Adusting your video). I would think you have a dependency problem with KDE.

I had the same problem today when I tried to add sudo commands using yast. As a result when I tried using kdesu it wouldn't accept my password. So I restored original /etc/sudoers file end edited it with visudo. Everything's back to normal now.
