Kaffeine/xine broken

I had a functioning xine and kaffeine. Then I tried to install mplayer which I could never get to work. Now xine crashes with a signal 4 error. I tried removing mplayer, xine and kaffeine with YAST and re-installing xine and kaffeine from the RPM's previously installed and functioning. Same problem. It feels like I may have removed something that is not being re-installed.

Any suggestions?

try this as a user

Code:
xine-config
This should give you an idea of what may be missing
