Java and Suse Personal 9.0

I downloaded java and think it installed (I received a "done" message).
I am deaf and must use an Internet relay service for phone calls. When I try to place a call in Konquerer, I get a blank screen. When I try to place a call in Firefox, I receive the "download plugin" message.

When I open a terminal window and type java, I receive the options response.
When I try to configure Firefox and set up a symbolic link to java, I receive, "file exists."
Java is still not working, what should I do differently? Thanks

The file exists but is it in your ~/firefox-installer/plugins folder? And if it is in the plugins folder, what is it linked to?

I started from the beginning: Download, Run, Package installed in the folder where the binary was placed, and a symbolic link placed in the Firefox-Installer directory. But it didn't work for the Java Test Page. I'll try it again.

Thanks for the reply
