i need to install net-snmp ver.5.0 and above package on suse linux 10.3 i downloaded package from SuseNovel repository but when trying to install getting errors of dependencies.

Is there and funda Yum like in RHEL.

You didn't post alot of information.

What are the errors. Copy paste them please.

You should be able to fix those dependencies manually or add the SuseNovel repository through Yast.

The original Suse 10.3 "net-snmp" packages ( year 2007 ) :
net-snmp-5.4.1-19 libsnmp15-5.4.1-19 snmp-mibs-5.4.1-19

If you have no libsnmp, snmp-mibs packages installed,
it should be no problem to install a Suse 10.x package ..

# rpm -Uvh net-snmp54-5.4-10.1.i586.rpm

The Suse package install GUI is Yast.
The command line tool is 'zypper'.
But : There is no "--localinstall" like the 'yum' option. AFAIK.
And : Both tools will probably fail, as no Suse 10.3 repo is available any more. EDIT

Please use that link as your 'baseurl' in /etc/zypp/repos.d/<openSuse.repo>

Then you can do : # zypper in net-snmp
.. the version in the repo is net-snmp-5.4.1 .
