Gnome 2.14

Does anyone know where i can find the new gnome 2.14...preferably in rpm format..or perhaps a repo source for yast which has it?

I guess those rpms will be posted to ftp.suse.com/...supplementary/GNOME as soon they are finished.

I'm not slamming the good people behind dropline, but, you may want to consider another gnome distribution, especially for x86_64 systems.

Dropline tampers way too much with your original system.

Hmm. It would appear that you've posted this message in about 8 different threads that are related to Dropline. Not sure why you did that, but I guess you've gotten your point across.

I take it that you didn't notice that this thread is 100% unrelated to Slackware?

This thread deals with SUSE 10.1. Not Slackware, and not Dropline.

Dropline Gnome 2.14 != Gnome 2.14

The Gnome 2.14 packages for SUSE are not even remotely related to Dropline.

Now that we have that covered... on to your 'blurb' about Dropline itself.

So let me get this straight, after installing Dropline and running into issues... instead of sending in a bug report, or maybe doing something constructive, you'd rather spam unrelated threads with negative comments about it.

Your best bet would be to switch to Freerock Gnome, which does not change system wide packages and installs cleanly over Slackware.

...and for God's sake man... unless you can code a full desktop environment on your own, don't bash it just because you can't figure shit out. Do something constructive that might actually help people in the open source community, like detail the steps to resolving the issue, or file a bug report and work with developers to solve the problem. Telling people not to use it does not actually help anyone.

No no no we are not saying that by posting that, he did something wrong, but its just completely a wrong thread.

He is talking about some Slack-hack distro. That almost the same as the green lizard distro, wait, no it isn't. He goes on with talking about dropline, and people are thinking, whats that...

And of cource he did mention he compiled the gnome, so ....

Helping others is allways welcome in the community, but maybe one should post things to right places
