Type in the command "lsmod | grep 8139" and see if the 8139too module is loaded.
If the card came with linux driver modules for the 2.4 kernel, these won't work with the 2.6 kernel. They probably don't release a version for the 2.6 kernel because the kernels 8139too driver works fine.

If the device showed up in YaST, and is listed if you type in "/sbin/ifconfig", then the device is probably working and you have a network configuration issue.

You will need to supply more information on how you configured the network in the "network devices" wizard.

Also, if you posted the output of "sudo /sbin/rcnetwork status eth0", it may help.
Code:
> sudo /sbin/rcnetwork status eth0
eth0 device: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)
    eth0 configuration: eth-bus-pci-0000:02:01.0
    eth0 IP address: 192.168.1.130/25 running
Checking service network . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . running
On my laptop, YaST saved the configuration for my NIC device in the file "/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth-bus-pci-0000:02:01.0"
The rcnetwork status output gave the name of the configuration file.

Also, click on the SuSE Help Center and select the Reference document. Networking starts on chapter 18.

Does "lsmod" show if the 8139too kernel module is loaded. If not try as root: "modprobe 8139too" and then try to run the YaST network device setup again. Does the NIC device show up in YaST?

There were a couple of times when I ran the YaST Hardware Information program. This causes the hardware to be rescanned. You might try modprobing "8139too" first.

Also, what are your boot options. If you use "noacpi", that could cause a problem with interupts. You should only need to use this option if you are having problems during the initial installation. Without acpi, I don't think interrupt sharing will work and you can have hardware conflicts.

You don't run "lsmod 8139too" . lsmod lists the modules that are loaded, so run "lsmod" and see if 8139too is listed.

What do you mean "nothing happens"? You should get some output from lsmod at least..
