Type in the command "lsmod | grep 8139" and see if the 8139too module is loaded.
If the card came with linux driver modules for the 2.4 kernel, these won't work with the 2.6 kernel. They probably don't release a version for the 2.6 kernel because the kernels 8139too driver works fine.
If the device showed up in YaST, and is listed if you type in "/sbin/ifconfig", then the device is probably working and you have a network configuration issue.
You will need to supply more information on how you configured the network in the "network devices" wizard.
Also, if you posted the output of "sudo /sbin/rcnetwork status eth0", it may help.
Code:
> sudo /sbin/rcnetwork status eth0
eth0 device: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)
eth0 configuration: eth-bus-pci-0000:02:01.0
eth0 IP address: 192.168.1.130/25 running
Checking service network . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . running
On my laptop, YaST saved the configuration for my NIC device in the file "/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth-bus-pci-0000:02:01.0"
The rcnetwork status output gave the name of the configuration file.
