The Answer.
Experimenting this evening, I have found the resolution to this problem.
Open YaST (log in as root) and select Hardware - Graphics Card and Monitor. this will open a new window. Make sure the radio button - Graphical desktop Environment is Checked and click the Change button. This will take you to a further window. Expand the Desktop heading and select Monitor. Click the Change Configuration button, select Properties.
You now have a window with three tabs; Monitor Model; Frequencies; Expert.
Make the appropriate changes. Now in my case, the problem was caused by my TFT screen not being listed or recognized and there is an option to manually select the required data. You will need to refer to your Monitor manual for the appropriate settings. Now click OK; Finish; Finalize. It is at this point you are offered a TEST. Take it, as if your settings don't work, you can still cancel and revert back to the present settings. The system will now give you a further screen to inspect and most importantly, will give you a further small window for adjustments to SIZE and POSITION. These are simple arrows (left, right, up and down) so you can't go far wrong! adjust to taste and SAVE.
The next time you start your Graphical Interface, the new settings take effect.
