So i've been trying to test out skydome for a while now but cannot seem to get it working. I have it enabled and a picture selected but when i go into the cube there is no background. What gives? Im assuming it has to meet a certain resolution, most likely one that matches my screen/desktop resolution; would i be correct in guessing this? I am running suse 11.1 and KDE 3.5.10, please help
I already know hot to set the background. The problem is even with it set, it will not show up. It's enabled, path chosen to the background image, but nothing; still a black background.
Hmmm, it works for me. I used a jpeg image I shot with my own camera. Only other thing I can think of, is check the file permissions. My pics are in my home directory and I own them. The image I used is 1024x768. My monitor is set for 1280x1024. The image gets expanded to fit.
CSSM is show as version 0.7.7.
I case this has something to do with the image you are using, post where I can download it, I'll give it a try and see what happens...
Yeah, I should have ownership but ill check them, also im using a png image, could this be a problem? I have png support enabled in compiz settings though. Ill try a jpeg and see if that gets any result. Im not home right now so i cant do anything with the image, but if all else fails ill upload it when im home
Hm,the image size is 1024x1024, my screen resolution is set to 1280x1024 as well. The image im trying to use is this http://www.imagedash.com/uploads/arx1236655899f.jpg I have the image in my home folder, i have permissions for it, but it will not show skydome and it's getting rather annoying. It's one of the last parts i need to complete my theme >.<;;
I can see the image, if I click the link, however I can not download it and try it.
I got it to work. Here is what I did... I used FF to go to the link, it displayed the image. I clicked on the image, did a save, as a jpeg image.
I put that in Skydome, with the full path, it displays well. What I can not tell you, is, the image may be altered, in some way not very obvious. It looked the same to me in both FF and as a skydome background image. Nice pic...
