Can't find the right driver for NVidia -10.3 Suse

Suse 10.3. I have been having all kinds of font issues with 10.3. I tried different type and different size fonts to no avail. My kernel is 2.6.22.12-0.1-default updated to 2.6.22.5_31-13. I'm thinking that the lack of nvidia is the problem. Hardware Monitor shows GE Force Fx 5200 for the card. When I first installed 10.3 nvidia was working(splash Nvidia) at boot but I think I upgraded the kernel acccidently thru Yast and lost the driver. None of the drivers in yast match this updated kernel or the default kernel.
Periferals says "Your X-Server is using the RandR extension at version 1.2 or greater which doesn't have any configuration yet."
So what I want to do is get a driver for nvidia and then change the resolution to get my fonts readable. How do I start?

Thanks

First download the NVIDIA drivers fromhttp://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html

then go into yast and get the kernal source is installed (make sure its your kernal). also make sure gcc glibc are installed

then go to a virtual terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1) and login as root

then type

init 3
To take you to run level 3 (no xserver)
then
chmod +X path/to/Nvidia/driver
to make executable
then
./path/to/Nvidia/driver
this will take you though a compile and install wizard wich finishes by wrighting a x.org file using the driver. it may need some tweaking.

hope you get it working

I don't understand about the kernel. Translation? Thanks. The default kernel is 2.6.22.12-0.1-default. What do I do with it?
