Can't Access Sax To Configure Video Card And Monitor After ATI X1950 Pro Install
Hello
I have successfully installed my ATI x1950 Pro video card in Open Suse 11.1. However, I can no longer access Sax in order to configure either my video card, or my monitor. The error I receive is "Cannot Deactivate All Displays at least one display must be active". Sax will then open. I try to change my monitor to the correct one, but I receive this error "Saving Configuration Failed X configuration data incomplete in file /var/lib/sax/xorg.conf undefined screen 'aticonfig-screen(0)-0' referenced by serverlayout "Layout(all)". I can use KDE 4.1 to change my resolution, but it goes back to default after a reboot. As well, my monitor will not go to sleep now, it stays on all the time. I assume that these are both related. Any help in being able to get Sax running would be great, because I think this would solve my issues.
Hi,
Have you tried from a terminal...ctrl-alt-F3 then log in..After that type init 3 and fill in root password... then type sax2 to enter the sax configuration utility..
I am going from memory so I am not 100% sure..
Goodluck

Yes, I did do this as well. No difference. I managed to install the ATI driver from the 1-click install. However, once I rebooted I could no longer use my system. I'm getting a little frustrated with this.
