Thumbs down "backtrace appears to be useless"

has anyone ever got this message?:
Quote:
This backtrace appears to be useless.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creating of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.
the program that got the "sigsev"-command was open office 1.1 which is still the version that comes integrated in the suse 9.1 package.

i have downloaded both suse10 and oo 2.0 and will install these when the semester is over and installation troubles cannot do any harm to my performance in various exams. but is this message above something to worry about?

regards
ungua, still and probably forever a

Assuming that OO isn't crashing all the time with that message, I'd say don't worry about it. The chances are that SuSE have compiled OO without debugging support. The only time it might be a problem is if you want to send crash information to the developers (or you want to try debugging OO yourself).
