adding evergreen repo using zypper up causing segmentation fault

I get a segmentation fault using zypper up in opensuse 10.3. I had to use zypper to add the evergreen repository. Using zypper up, the segmentation fault occurs during building the evergreen cache around 4% completion. I also issued the commands:
rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*
and
rpm -vv --rebuilddb

and still get the segmentation fault.

I am sticking with opensuse 10.3 because it is an old box and can not handle newer opensuse versions.
