adding mirror to yum.repo.d/<any-repo>

Hi,
I have setup different repo files in /etc/yum.repo.d . I want to know how to add mirrors to the repo files, so that its faster. Futher if i set-up mirrors how do i instruct yum to use the mirrors first then check for the main repository, in case the mirrors fail.
