I've got the same problem (my install also took for ages, and boot hung at the same point).
But as I had a little more patience: it went on after a few minutes of hanging, but then hung at various other stages (can't remember the exact points, think one was at loading AppArmour and some sysconfig thingy).
I had this happen once, but it was back when I had Mandrake on my desktop. It may have been a hardware issue. Unplugging the external usb drives fixed the problem. I was able to plug them in afterwards. You probably wouldn't want to unplug a usb keyboard, but initially doing without a usb mouse just to see if it will boot up should be OK.
Since it is a printer, he doesn't need it during boot. Plugging it back in and re-configuring the printer may fix the problem in the future.

well, I'll have to try that out and report back if it helped, I remember having that problem in widndows once, when plugging in a faulty usb device, slowed the whole system to near halt.
Problem is, it's the mouse and keyboard here :S A logitech bluetooth adapter to be precise. Can only boot up, and if it does solve the problems, hope that it'll work again once I plug em back in. (don't feel like replacing my expensive mouse+keyboard set just to be able to get suse10.1 working, when it worked just fine under suse10)
Well I tried unplugging everything, first time booted up just fine (well took a little longer as it did a fscheck because of a bad shutdown earlier). Then second time it went slow again, and hung at the usual places (bout 5minutes at the usb place mentioned by the first poster; then antoher 2 minutes at Apparmor and firewall start). But once in KDE speed went back to normal again and I plugged my usb device back in. (b4 KDE used to be real slow too)
That was a different guy with the USB printer. But I seem to have the same problem so I posted in this thread.
The boot logs don't show anything timing out as far as I can see.
the boot logs show nothing except a long wait like 5 mins then the boot starts again. however. after that started suse 10.1 never would connect to the internet and my printer would not work. i waited forever for this version to come out. after tryning to get it to work, I installed fedora 5 and no problems. i even tried mepis 6.0 beta 3, and i was really impressed. fast, fast and stable.
i might just say goodbye to suse, if it takes more work then windows it really is not worth it.

yep, I'm having the same problem with the internet not working in boot. I got to yast->network devices, then click next->next and it works A hassle though, must be some way of getting it to work again from boot.
Can you post a list of your hardware? As we're both having the same problems, there must be some piece of hardware that both of us have causing it.
