Relax! Looks like you haven't had any prior Solaris experience. So, start from the basics. Start reading the documentation at Sun's web sites; and of course there are plenty of web sites with useful Solaris related content.

i am trying "pkg-get -i vlc "now,
the files package is downloaded now....working...

the video picture is too small,
i think about the resolving power ,like the screen "800X600","1024X768",etc...not for the player.

i dont know how to change the options:"800X600","1024xx768"...etc... at which function,at which function menu???

in as much you,my dear friend, introduce this new kind of player--VLC for me.
so i will try one time.compare to both each other, which is better and which is worse???

okay!!!!!

yes , i know very few about solaris;to tell the truth, just for few days.
although a half year before, i have installed solaris one time, didnt detail configure the intefix usage and configuration.

although there are lots of the documentation at SUN's web site, but for the fresh man, more material ,more confuse ,dont know which one is the main, and important, and related point.

anyway, thank you for your advice and teaching me,thanks again.

wow, suddenly discover the sounds problems answer,

afflatus come from the RedHat 9.0,i have used it for fix months.
and rh9.0 the sound ,specially flash sound, have to use the command "esd" to open.
and the "xmms" player on RH9.0 ,the Output Plugin have several options to choice.
i dont really know the function about optins quite, but some options ,if you selected ,the xmms will CANNT speak.

and the same arguments, the same truth, same reason,
the xmms player in the solaris system, also have the four options, selected the "eSound OutPut plugin" option,
everything is okay.
xmms work well.

.. everything is okay. xmms work well. ..

Cool; finally you are able to resolve the audio issue(s) on Solaris. That's good progress.

..,but for the fresh man, more material ,more confuse ,dont know which one is the main, and important, and related point ..

Simple web search with key words like "Solaris for beginners", "UNIX for beginners" etc., will fetch thousands of web pages with very useful & relevant content for beginners to get started.

And most of the commonly asked questions were already answered by many people and are still available in this forum. So, searching through the archives/threads with relevant key words may save some frustration.

thank you for your helping me ,thank you for your advice,
thank you for encouraging me.

okay, yes, most of the commonly asked questions were already answered by lots of beginners and learners,
i believe that. cause i am a beginner.

the troulbes i meet now, lots of people have met before.i am really sure.
maybe i am lazy, maybe i am afraid to search and read materials, for stolen lazy, not do that.
i feel really sorry. forgive me.

but now, once i enter the windows of solaris ,i will make a big progress
on solaris in the future.
do it just now.
