I thought this to be more of a general information statement, so I continued.

bash-2.05# metattach d0 d10
metattach: ldap01: d10: unit not set up
I am not sure what the error "metainit: ldap01: c0t1d0s0: has appeared more than once in the specification of d20" means.
I tried to Google portions of the message and found references to "soft partioning". I need to now how to re-attach the sub-mirror find out what this error means.
Was the drive replaced? If not why would you metadetach it?
Had the disk checked out in "format" (you can run a read test) you could have just run a metareplace.
What you were trying to do is create d10 as a concat of c0t0d0s0 and c0t1d0s0. Instead you need to create d10 for c0t0d0s0 and then mirror it with c0t1d0s0.
From the "Sun Volume Manager Administration Guide" PDF 806-6111, Pg 112 "Responding to RAISD 1 Volume Component Failures"; subsection "How to Replace a Slice in a Submirror".
This section looked like the answer to the submirror issue I was trying to fix. This disk di not fail, but the mirror had issues.
The answer you gave me allowed for the re-attach. Thanks!
Between you and the Sun document, I should be able to clean all the other mirrors. Again, Thanks!
