solaris 9 installation on external drive
i would like to try solaris. i am currently tripple booting fedora, debian, and doze.
during the install (using software cd 1) the external drive is available as an installation option. everything seems to be fine as the installation begins to write to the drive. when it approaches around 375mb written to the disk the system reboots. i remove cd 1 solaris seems to boot off of the external drive however it takes me to the device configuration assistant. the only options available to boot from are my cd drive and two internal hard drives. i believe the next step should be the root password selection and the insertion of disk 2. if i choose the cd drive and reinsert disk 1 it gives me an option to upgrade from solaris 9 to 9 or reinstall. i have tried both with the same results. insertion of disk 2 system freezes. am i missing something? i am going to attempt the installation again and will post more detailed information. i could really use some help iv tried both google and search button and am still lost.
thanks in advance
