To know what release is currently installed on your system, view the /etc/release file.
To get information about what specific features are contained in which releases, have a look here: http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/whats_new.jsp and here: http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-0547

Thanks Jlliagre for quick reply,But my query is that according to this link http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-0547,wheather it will show that this is release number 1 or 2 in solaris installed operating system, I have checked /etc/system file also but it will show date it does not show that it is release 1 or 2 or 3 ,how can we know that this is release number wise 1 or 2 or 3

Solaris releases are simply numbered chronologically.

FCS - 3/05
u1 - 1/06
u2 - 6/06
u3 - 11/06
u4 - 8/07

You can get the update number from the /etc/release content, eg
Code:
Copyright 2007 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
Use is subject to license terms.
                             Assembled 26 June 2007
                        Solaris 10 11/06 s10x_u3wos_10 X86
