Solaris 10 download


This is a very stupid question but is Sun Solaris 10 free for download. I have never used Solaris and wanted to try it. thanks

Yep, but you do have to register to download.

and registering is free too.

You can download non Sun OpenSolaris based distributions without a registration requirement too.

I just finished installing .... you better free up a few hours, it is pig slow.

I take it that the installer for Solaris is not very user friendly.

There was no real demand for a user friendly installer since until recently.

I would not say that the installer is "unfriendly" it was just slow. However as the previous post states they are working on that. I can install Ubuntu in about 20 minutes, but I still opted to try Solaris. So far I like the Java Desktop 3. Now I get to read and see how to manage packages.

Solaris needs a little help in the install gui area but it is assumed that you are a flavored *nix users, right, come on help me out here!
