set path for solaris 10 csh shell

i use solaris 10 and have created a user account. Since the default shell for user is csh, i modified the $home/local.login as:

Code:
#
# Copyright (c) 2001 by Sun Microsystems, Inc.
# All rights reserved.
#
# ident	"@(#)local.login	1.7	01/06/23 SMI"
stty -istrip
#setenv TERM `tset -Q -`
setenv GAMMA_HOME "/usr/local/GAMMA_SOFTWARE-20080402"
setenv MSP_HOME "$GAMMA_HOME/MSP_v11.5"
setenv ISP_HOME "$GAMMA_HOME/ISP_v9.8"
setenv DIFF_HOME "$GAMMA_HOME/DIFF_v6.6"
setenv DISP_HOME "$GAMMA_HOME/DISP_v1.4"
setenv LAT_HOME "$GAMMA_HOME/LAT_v2.4"
setenv IPTA_HOME "$GAMMA_HOME/IPTA_v1.2"
setenv GEO_HOME "$GAMMA_HOME/GEO_v1.2"
setenv PATH $PATH":/usr/local/bin:$DISP_HOME/bin:$MSP_HOME/bin:$ISP_HOME/bin:$DIFF_HOME/bin:$LAT_HOME/bin:$IPTA_HOME/bin:$GEO_HOME/bin:$DISP_HOME/scripts:$MSP_HOME/scripts:$ISP_HOME/scripts:$DIFF_HOME/scripts:$LAT_HOME/scripts:$IPTA_HOME/scripts:$GEO_HOME/scripts"
however, when i echo the $PATH, the display is totally different
Code:
jlgis-gamma% echo $PATH
/usr/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/ucb
jlgis-gamma% echo $SHELL
/bin/csh
For setting the path, should I modify another file? I also try $home/local.profile, which should be for bash shell and also not work.

Moved: This thread is more suitable in Solaris and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves.

I have also put code tags around your code to make it more readable.

Default shell has never been csh with Solaris. I understand you set csh as this user's shell which isn't something I would recommend given csh is quite outdated, non POSIX and lacking many features ksh, bash and others provide.

i modified the $home/local.login as ...
This file is an unused sample. Rename it to .login for it to be sourced.
