I am stcuk with my 2 printers. Canon BJC 265SP and
Epson Stylus C41SX with Solaris 10.
When I configure them one at a time - I can find
drivers for both of them.
and when I issue the command "accept Canon/Epson" the
output is what it supposed to be. But when i print
with the command
"lp -d Canon/Epson test.txt"
both the printers (which ever is connected) starts
behaving crazy. They keep on printing some info on
what is going to be printed out and later on it prints
that the schedule has been stoped or cancled. This
situation becomes an infinity loop.
I have used the Graphical tool to configure the
Printers. And is quite new in the Printing Section
under Solaris. One thing - I could get to the printers
(both of them) through both of the following ports
/dev/ecpp0
/dev/printers/0
The question is which one to set up ...
Also how may I set the printers up in the command
line. I have a book - but the more I read through it -
the more i get puzzeled. And how to properly set them
up?
For any further messages - PLS knock me and Thanks
in Advance.
have you tried to use lpstat -t to see which is your default printer and then use lp and send the job to one printer at a time? Or perhaps look at /etc/printers.conf?
lpstat -t should show you if the printers are enabled, accepting requests and so forth. If you want to send a print job to multiple printers at once, I would try to create a class of printers and then make the class of printers your default printer.
