Printing problem

Hi all folks,

FreeBSD 5.2
HPdeskjet 690C
LPR/LPRng Print System
KDE 3.1

As 'root' on printing a 'kedit' document following warning popup;

Catastrophe! KNotify :-
A print error occured. Error message received from system:

/usr/local/bin/lpr -P 'HPDeskJet690C' '-#1' '/tmp/kde-root/kdeprint_JhDiI5X' : execution failed with message:
lpr: unable to print file: client-error-not-possible

Kindly advise how to fix this problem

another one running X all the time as root...do you need to be root to run X if you do so or do you really need to be root to be able to print...

I did all as 'root' including printing.
