Printer with Openindiana ?

Hello,

Did someone succeed in installing a printer with Openindiana/Opensolaris ?

I now own an Epson XP-225, I had some recent HP Deskjet, impossible to make work them.

I've got the same problem with a FreeBSD, but I dont'have this OS any more.

Does OI have support for a CUPS or Gutenprint package?

Yes, my Epson is now recognized, the package foomatic-rip was missing, but the specific driver is missing in the proposed Epson list models, I installed the 'Generic' one by default, it prints only E and G at the beginning of the line, for a text or fot the test page.

I wonder if I can add the Linux driver, and where to place it, in which file...

I am still searching in the Web....

If it uses a generic to UNIX driver, then it should work. Usually gutenprint and CUPS cover this. If it's any driver that can use the standard printing systems like cups, lpr, etc. it should work.

I would search www.openprinting.org and see what your model has available in the database.

Here's yours: http://www.openprinting.org/printer/...-XP-225_Series

Thank you, as soon as possible I see to try to install the driver, and I 'll give a feedback.
