i have windows xp installed in my c: drive and planning to install open solaris in d:drive}

First, spell your words out...it's "please", not "pls".
You don't say what version of Opensolaris you're trying, on what hardware, or what you've done so far, and without details, no one will be able to help you.

Was it properly downloaded (check iso's md5sum against the one in the opensolaris website)? Did you ensure that it got burned properly (low speeds are better for burning iso's)?
