Question OpenSolaris installation On SPARC

Newbie question.
I've been running OpenSolaris on an Intel box for some time with great success.
I have just bought an old Sun Blade workstation with a corrupted version of Solaris 5 something on it.
The plan was to install OpenSolaris on it.
However beyond my skills, I see, as no Live CD (or likely to be in my lifetime)
Plan B, to install Solaris 10.(I have DVD from SUN)
How do I get the box to boot the CD (Intel keyboard, USB, not SUN keyboard),it currently boots to HD which then stops on part install, and asks for root password which I don't have.
How do I access firmware PROM?
Once CD boots, any further commands needed?
I've done a web search, Stop+A or Intel equivalent doesn't work.
Help appreciated.

You can try Control-Break with your USB keyboard.

Otherwise, I would suggest to unplug any keyboard/mouse connected and plug a terminal emulator to the serial port. The console should default to it and then you should be able to interrupt the boot process with sending a break.

Thanks.
Control-Break doesn't work.
I know this may make you laugh but coming from a MAC/Windows world a terminal emulator just means an xterm to me??

Xterm is definitely a terminal emulator and would work. You will also need some command to connect it to a serial line. Under Solaris, that would be "tip". With it break can be sent with this sequence "~#".
