commands problem


hai very one


iam using ultra 20 workstation, i got a problem,

while typing the command like ls,format,ifconfig etc..

the error is command not found,

if type full path of command like /usr/sbin/ls it will execute.


how can i retify this problem , i wan use commands without using fullpath of command.

What returns "echo $PATH" ?

its showing path

#echo $PATH

/opt/SUNWspro/bin:/usr/ccs/bin

thats it

That's not enough. There must be a broken instruction in a .profile or similar file.

Change it to something like:

PATH=/usr/bin:/usr/sfw/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/dt/bin:/opt/csw/bin:/usr/local/bin:/opt/SUNWspro/bin:/usr/ccs/bin

one more problem.

1. Terminal not opening in Java desktop?

2. Web browser automatically opeing when system is poweron?

3. in the every next boot there is a minimised desktop console and one console appearing in cde desktop? help me to desire opeinig the console.
4. some time java desktop takes long time to open?

5. unable to open the gnome PDF viewer? i am tring to open pdf file with open with option and double click on pdf file.
