Cd Burning Software for Solaris 10 X86?

Hello -

I have been running Solaris 10 on x86 recently but I removed it because I could not burn CDs to backup my data that I had stored..

So, I am planning to install Solaris 10 again. But, I need help or for people here to explain me in detail on how to INSTALL (not BURN) because I know how to burn CDs...but I need to have a GUI CD Burner software like Nero or K3B to burn CDs and to backup my data on it.

Ij ust need to know how to install K3B or something on it and has to be a GUI too..

I would appreciate the help on this..

Thanks.

I think Nautilus can be used as a GUI to create CD's.

You do not need to install it, it's already there as a part of JDS.

CDE doesn't provide a CD recording facility, and probably never will.

What's wrong with the command line interface ?

Go to www.blastwave.org, click on the "HOW TO" link on the left pane, follow the instructions to install pkg-get.

When done, enter "pkg-get -i xcdroast".

Finally add xcdroast somewhere in your CDE desktop.

It looks like you missed step 7
Code:
# PATH=/opt/csw/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/dt/bin:/usr/ccs/bin
# export PATH
You can make this change persistent this way (from step 8):

Code:
Next item is the default PATH for the root user and regular users. You can set this in the files /etc/default/login and /etc/default/su. Please feel free to be pedantic and set PATH and SUPATH in both of those files to something useful thus :

PATH=/opt/csw/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/dt/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/ccs/bin

Ok...lets start from scratch...

Ok, when I download the file and were it ask me to SAVE IT...Where should I save the file?? I saved it in my HOME directory...Is that OK or not? Also I did this to install it:
# pkgadd -d /home/pkg_get.pkg all

So what do I have to do AFTER I did the install command like I did above?

Now...do I have to enter this command (below) AFTER I do the install command likw above?

# PATH=/opt/csw/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/dt/bin:/usr/ccs/bin
# export PATH

And then...after this, what would be next to install XCDROAST?

Also...DO I NEED to install the WGET thing too? Or, only the PKG-GET to install the XCDROAST?

I would appreciate it if you can explain the detailed steps in my case were I have the downloaded file in my HOME directory...Thanks.

Please spare few minutes to read the instructions of http://technopark02.blogspot.com/200...ages-with.html page. Once you install pkg-get properly, it is fairly easy to install all available packages.
