Hello, I recently installed Slackware for the first time. Although I've managed to solve some of my own problems though online resources, I cannot figure out what is wrong with the wifi. When I type iw config I get eth0 and lo has no wireless extensions. I confused what to do from here. I believe I'm suppose to load some sort of module but I'm not entirely sure what.
Please tell me if you need any information before recommending a solution.
Problem could be that you still need firmware for your wireless device. You can use from the cli, 'lspci -vv' to get the device. Hopefully you will only need to insure that firmware is the issue. Other wise it could be a configuration problem. What does 'ifconfig -a' from the cli show?
Hope this helps.
Have fun & enjoy!
Is your wireless device the "Atheros Qualcomm Killer N1525 Wireless-AC [168c:003e]" ? According to this page, it is supported since kernel version 4.0: http://cateee.net/lkddb/web-lkddb/WLAN.html
Slackware still only has a 3.x kernel where this wireless device is not supported.
Slackware-current has a configuration file in case you want to compile your own 4.1.1 kernel: http://taper.alienbase.nl/mirrors/sl...testing-4.1.1/
