Slackware current UEFI install not bootable from boot menu

Hi, i want to install slackware current in uefi mode. I made gpt table, Efi System Partition SWAP and Filesystem partitions using gdisk and cgdisk then installed slackware, skipped lilo and bootusbstick and installed elilo to newly made ESP and said yes to add bootmenu entry but after rebooting there is no way to boot into slackware and only way is by launching grub first and letting it scan for bootable stuff.

Everything works fine if instead of making my own ESP i let installer to put entry in windows' ESP. But when I try to make my own ESP no matter if I unplug windows10 drive during installation my bios won't show uefi slackware installation. What is the problem here?

I have so many questions. (and even more about legacy bios stuff and how those mix) There is no "BOOT" folder with somethingx64.efi file on my ESP but there is on windows' bootableESP and on installbootstick, what is it and is this the problem? Why do we even need ESP if installbootsticks don't need it at all. Is it possible/extremely hard to make slackware installation that can be booted both into uefi and legacy like installbootstick?

on some computers you need to tell the uefi where to find elilo.

if you don't want to dual boot with windows, you can copy the elilo efi file to /efi/boot/boot_x64.efi and it should work.

Wow that actually did the job thanks. I changed elilo.efi to bootx64.efi and Slackware folder to Boot and it was automatically detected as boot option. Looks like my motherboard's UEFI will notice efi bootmanager if it's located in /EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi

Ye shame this one doesn't even allow it, I even have one computer that allows adding efi paths manually but looks like with this one i have to use efibootmgr -for some reason it didn't do it's job during installation and either entries have to be to be done manually with efibootmgr or elilo.efi (with config initrd and kernel) has to be moved to /Boot/bootx64.efi

Thank you. Actually I've learned alot of what I wanted.

Sorry, I just noticed that I put an underscore in the name... as you figured out, it isn't necessary.

I did that was because I lost access to old account with same name.

Also I wanted to add to the thread that I managed to install both lilo and elilo at the same time and looks like it works for me just fine with no problems at all on gpt partition table. Installed first elilo then lilo(to MBR) and im able to boot both in legacy and uefi mode.
