You'll have to install lilo or some other bootloader to be able to run. reboot with the CD and mount your new install as root. Then add the lilo package if not there. then run liloconfig and setup your boot mechanism.

Thoughts:

1. Is the bios set up to boot from the hard drive after you remove the CDROM?

2. Can you make a rescue floppy or custom boot floppy?

3. Did you install LILO to the MBR?

4. Do you need to "fdisk /mbr?

[ovid]: yes

[ovid]: yes, and I can boot from this floppy

3. Did you install LILO to the MBR?
[ovid]: I try out : 1. install LILO to the MBR 2. install LILO, but not into MBR 3. didn't install LILO
But all these three cases are not work.

4. Do you need to "fdisk /mbr?
[ovid]: execuse me. I don't know what is this.

Thank you.
Ovid.

For information on fdisk /mbr:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...NoWebContent=1

I recall having a couple of hard drives several years ago that would boot with FreeBSD but not Linux. /mbr is an fdisk option that rewrites the mbr.
