install text console just bunch of dots a stripes . Drastically smeared .

During boot of a slackware-current install iso burned from bear on 20200929 EVERYTHING including the Penguins are smeared across the screen .

I have tried every vga=XXX that my monitor supports , With NO effect on the results .

KMS again repeats the above problems .

The monitor reports that it is in 640x480x60Hz after every boot .

Slackware-14.2-dvd works (slowly But,) flawlessly .

Anyone got ideas I can try to

slackware-current as of 20200929 kernel 5.4.67
System is: Wyse Zx0
processor: AMD G-T56N
mem: 16 GBytes ram
disk: sandisk ssd plus 04RL PQ: 480GB
Video: AMD Wrestler (Radeon HD 6320)

Hello All , Downloaded the slackware64-current install DVD Linux-5.4.69 as of 20201004 .
The KMS loader works find without any mods to the grub loader script .
Marking this thread as closed .
Thanks for all the responses ;-)

For those who don't know the Wyse Zx0 it is a UEFI based bios , When booting I would hit 'P' key to bring up the selection of bootable devices , This was in the UEFI console which reset the display to 640x480x8(iirc) , This was the root cause of the Smeared screen . The Kernel cmdline "VGA=xxx" does not work , Nor the NOMODESET .

To rectify set your install media to be before any other bootable device & just let the device boot to the media , This allows the monitor/screen to remain in it's native state . And the Smearing will not be present . Thus installation can proceed normally .

Now apon rebooting the Smearing is back as UEFI has again been entered & resets the monitor/screen to 640x480x8(agn, iirc) . The NOMODESET does NOT work Nor Kernel cmdline "VGA=xxx" at this either ...
