Grub error 17

I just completed the install for Slackware 10.1 and when my PC rebooted, it got the error message Grub 1.5 loading, error 17 and it just stops. Ive got 2 hard drives and have partititioned hda to be hda1 swap type 256 mb bootable, hda2 as type (83) Linux ext2, my other hard drive is hdb and Ive partitioned it as linux type. Any ideas? Did I format my drives improperly with Slackware or something. Id hate to start over because it took almost 2.5 hours
