hi, i have just downloaded the slackware and burn it on dvd and try to install it on my hp laptop dv 6646 us with ms vista alongside, but cfdisk is not showing anything but only 4 gb partition while i have put aside around 57 gb for slackware, can anybody tell me what is wrong with it?
So, you set aside 57 GB of space how ? You made a partition of that size formated in NTF$ ? Then you shouldn't be looking for 'free space' you should be looking for a partition of size 57 GB. Make sure you don't delete the wrong one.
i had installed fedora in that 57 gb space then i had deleted that partition from windows vista and now i want to install slackware in that same partition instead of fedora , when i start installing fedora it shows me the right thing but when i start it with slackware cfdisk it only shows me one partition and that is 4 gb.
