problem with libgnomevfs

installed slackware 10.0 on an old machine.

all the relavent packages were installed.

when trying to start gnome:
"gnome-session" or "startx"
it says:
"gnome-session: error while loading share libraries: libgnomevfs-2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory".

i reinstalled all the packages from /mnt/cdrom/slackware/gnome on disk2, but nothing changed.

the xorg is configured.

I tried to google it but came with nothing.

what to do?

plz excuse my grammer (babylon's down).

thanks a lot!

a complete reinstall of the distro might work do gnome package and xwindowsystem package at least. reinstalling does the trick in many occasions.
