To build rtl8188eus, you need not only headers, but the sources of everything with its configuration.

For now I am using r8188eu module, manually loaded. Its available in kernel-modules package but its a staging module, so performance or stability may not be up to the mark.
Right now I'm pulling a dir list from http://dl.fail.pp.ua using lftp and only downloading new files, but if sndwvs would rather me use rsync of something, please let me know.
Which has a package with a kernel that boots on a raspberry pi 4 as well as the kernel-headers and kernel-source directories.
I also included a number of other of my own packages, which include the kernel modules and userspace for ZFS.
The readme.txt shows you how to get it all installed, and it's really nothing more than making and formatting partitions, extracting the slarm64 rootfs, then manually installing the kernel package. I can go from zero to a pi4 running slarm64 with ZFS in under 15 minutes.
I'm using this as a backup node. I attach a small external disk to my pie, then zfs send my file systems to it every few hours to have an offsite backup.
