At the moment I'm playing with Xfce4.16 on current, it works alright but I woud like to know how I can bring elogind und Xfce together?

Actually, Xfce works great with elogind, but shutdown, supsend etc. didn't work.

When it comes to icon themes for xfce, what are all the classic ones? I like the classic look to linux/unix. I know of tango, but what are the other ones? Even modern icon themes that mimics a classic icon sets are fine too.

The ROX icon set that comes with the ROX file manager are pretty "retro" looking.

Yes I did, my builds looking very simlar. I guess Xfce hasn't a specific build parameter for elogind.

Maybe I just have to setup logind.conf + xfconf-query.

Well, I've not looked at 4.16 yet (no time), but there are some parts of xfce that link elogind -- I think xfce4-settings does as well as xfce4-power-manager.

You're absolutely right. I forgot to rebuild polkit against elogind.

How big of a change is xfce 4.16 going to be? Will themes that work with 4.14 and older work with 4.16 because I'm hearing a lot of doomsday predictions with 4.16.
