Smile Xconfigurator


looks like this command doesn't work under Slack; but xf86config works...anyway is there any problem if after setup i give startx command without configure my X window ?

No problem, most likely your X Window will crash after it tries to start.
If you had old XF86Config file, you could have use it.

Smile Nope !

My X window didn't ! and looks like i works very well (a perfect resolution )...and dint' configure anything ! no x configurator, no xf86config no nothing...after my first boot process just startx command. could be there any problem ?

Xconfigurator is a REDHAT program. You can get it pre-compile for slackware from College Linux. xf86config is even better though, except that it won't detect your card.

If the refresh rate at that particular resolution is not out of your monitors range then everything should be fine.
If you really want an X configuration program try:
Code:
/usr/X11/bin/xfree86setup
I beleive it only tries to detect your monitor and graphics card, so you will have to set up the mouse and keyboard yourself.
