if you also need to write to files. ( i don't do that...), you could try " umask=000 "

I am not quite sure what you mean by "when I try to open up program files nothing shows up".

If you mean some programs do not work under wine then that is normal. From my experience only a few program worked fully. A few others were made to work with some effort. Most programs I have tried either do NOT work or only work partially under wine.

I open up the file "program files" in win-c which is my windows partition.
Program files is supposed to be program files as in "windows 98 "
which is the other operating system that I am using, when I click on it to open it up it shows program files as being empty, but when I reboot into windows 98 and check it , it is far from empty.
