Why wont my fluxbox change it's theme

now...for the problem...
i dl-ed a desktop theme for my fluxbox, but when i decopmress it in my ~/.fluxbox/styles folder it wont run...
ot recognizes only the tar archive (nothing else) and when i click ot the archive it runs a default style, not the one i want
now can someone explain how to do it...
a friend told me i have to cp the jpg in ~/.fluxbox/backgrounds in order to have a background...
Sorry for the numerous posts this week, but this forum is really helpfull

check your ~/.fluxbox/styles directory. if you find any other subdirectories under that, means that you should have untarred the file under ~/.fluxbox.

if after

Code:
$ls

stylefile.tar.tar
backgrounds/
styles/
you can just copy the contents of the styles directory to ~/.fluxbox/styles and the contents of the backgrounds directory to ~/.fluxbox/backgrounds.

You can copy it into you backgrounds then edit your ~/.fluxbox/init file and where you see Session.Screen0.rootCommand: add the following to it.
Code:
fbset -f ~/backgrounds/name_of_file.jpg
That is how I set my backgrounds.

The styles are in their own directories -- extract it and you should be running fine.
