fluxbox theme
I have the latest version of fluxbox for SuSE 8.2 and I am wondering how do I install themes for it? I don't know where to put the extracted files of the themes. Any suggestions would help?

Well, I'm a blackbox user, but as far as I know, blackbox themes can be used under flux. Blackbox themes are placed at /usr/share/blackbox/styles. In my wild guess, fluxbox would be /usr/share/fluxbox/styles (just a real guess...). If they are not in there, type
whereis fluxbox
So you will see where flux is, get in it's directory (themes, styles or whatever its called) and uncompress (if compressed) the themes in there .

In blackbox we use either bbconf to change the styles/fontsizes/backgrounds or the command:
bsetbg -c filename
To set background

Is the 'latest version of fluxbox for SuSE 8.2' the latest stable version (0.1.14) or latest development version (0.9.4)?
Version 0.1.14 uses the bsetbg command, version 0.9.4 uses fbsetbg. Either of these will be put in one of two (that I know of) locations:
in the ~/.fluxbox/init file like this:
session.screen0.rootCommand: bsetbg /location/of/picture.png
or in the style file itself like this
rootCommand: bsetbg /location/of/picture.png
If you set the BG in the init file with the -f option, the BG will not change, no matter what style you use.
Read the documentation at the Fluxbox site: http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net/docbook.php
Enjoy!

u can edit the theme file individually if you want a specific background for the theme.
nano ~/.fluxbox/styles/theme1
or
vim ~/
or whatever editor u use
u can also use other background setters.
i personally use wmsetbg, doesnt degrade the image quality when stretched.
cheers
