Unhappy Where's My Kernel Gone????

Im trying to install the alsa 0.9.4 drivers and after the ./configure step i get this message:

checking for directory with kernel source... /lib/modules/2.4.20/build
checking for kernel version... The file /lib/modules/2.4.20/build/include/linux/version.h does not exist.
Please, install the package with full kernel sources for your distribution
or use --with-kernel=dir option to specify another directory with kernel
sources (default is /usr/src/linux).
make all-deps
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver-0.9.4'
make[1]: Nothing to be done for `all-deps'.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver-0.9.4'

Please, run the configure script as first...

rm -f /snd*.o /persist.o /isapnp.o
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver-0.9.4/support'
Makefile:9: ../Makefile.conf: No such file or directory
Makefile:27: /Rules.make: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `/Rules.make'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver-0.9.4/support'
make: *** [install-modules] Error 1

where kernel sources are stored by slackware 9

If you have the one-cd version of Slackware 9.0 - then you have no kernel sources
You better go to http://www.slackware.com/getslack/, look for a close mirror, d/l a kernel source (.tgz), and install it using installpkg.

Kernel source wasn't included with slack 9, they couldn't fit it in. It's highly recomended you install it tho. Go to a mirror of slackware.org (through slackware.org, get slack) and then in slackware9/slackware/k or thereabouts, find the source tgz, dl and install with installpkg.
package kdei was also left out. Think that's international support for kde.
