Pat is starting to move out KDE5 stuff from vtown to the main tree and just recently added xfce 4.14 to vtown. Is there any other major software left to add? Can we start seeing beta testing by January?

I'm about to merge some updates to the GTK stack and new Xfce right now,
and then once we get Plasma 5 merged into the main tree and clear out some unneeded cruft
we'll be just about ready for a beta release.

I guess everyone must be using chrome, because you can no longer read patreon news posts on Firefox 68.12.0esr that comes on Slackware 14.2.
Why can't these posts go on slackware.com? That would be a more obvious place.
I don't understand how to use that patreon site. There is only one post under "Recent Posts". Do you have to be a member and sign on in order to see more than the most recent post?

It depends on what you mean with "see more", there's only one post. And it has 39 likes + 18 comments (at the time of writing this).

Based on its content, especially the beginning, my guess is. It's a "thank you post" to all who've helped...
"Very thankful this Thanksgiving
Hi everyone, I just wanted to make sure that in spite of the long radio silence here that you all know how grateful my family and I are for your support..."
As for reading the patreon site, using Firefox 68.12.0-ESR, I can confirm that there's a problem reading the post
Glad to see Pat getting KDE5 and Xfce whipped into shape. After the store fiasco, I'm happy to see mine and others financial contributions helping keep my favorite linux distro active. Next I'd like to see a jump tp 5.10 kernel for all the new AMD Ryzen and NAVI GPU gear I now have.
Firefox 68 isn't downloading the custom fonts via @font-face style element 'aktiv-grotesk' from the patreon page. A quick workaround is to disable using "Allow pages to choose their own fonts..." This popped up before in FF earlier versions, but I do not recall the fix, even after comparing both (78.x in current and 68 in 14.2) side by side. a CSS setting, security or whatever...too tired too explore futher...

No you do not have to be a member to see most recent post. There is only one post, there is nothing else to see.
Regarding the original question: I suspect one of the remaining holdups is a new LTS kernel. 5.10 is supposed to be an LTS release, and is due around Xmas time, from what I've read. It would make sense to hang on for it.

Has pat ever confirmed that he is going to release slackware 15 with the 5.10 LTS kernel?
While 5.10 is targeted as the next LTS kernel, I'd rather see Slackware 15 released sooner rather than later. That means stability using 5.4. Retooling and testing all packages for 5.10 is considerable work and would cause further delays.
Possibly a 5.10 package could be added to /testing when 15 reaches RC status, but 5.4 should be the official 15 kernel.
Get 15 out the door and let Pat breath. I suspect the next development cycle will be close to the traditional 9 months or so, which will mean the next LTS kernel.
