weird network problem of slackware in virtualbox
Solved, just found in IE that the host os used a proxy server. I set the proxy server in guest os firefox, now I can surf the net.
Hi,
My office machine had only windows xp on it, so I installed Virtualbox 2.2.4, and did a full installation of slackware 12.2 in Vb.
In virtual machine network settings, I chose the 'PCnet-Fast III', working in 'NAT' mode. In the guest os, the network is configured in DHCP mode.
Now the problem is, in the guest os, I can use ssh to access other machines (outside my company), but CANNOT use browser to surf the internet (there is no error message, but a blank page, whatever website I visit). By the way, the browser of host os (Win XP) works fine.
Actually I tried other distros, like fedora & debian, both have this problems, so I think this is more probably the problem of Virtualbox. Anyone has similar problem and knows a solution?
Thanks!
Zhiyuan
