very slow boot with 2.6.32.2 generic-smp kernel

Hi Everyone,

I am using a toshiba netbook nb200. I just did an upgrade to slackware current last night, which includes new kernel 2.6.32.2. But after i restart, the boot process is very slow, it takes about almost 15mins to get to kdm login ( using generic-2.6.32.2-smp kernel). I switched to generic-2.6.29.6-smp kernel, everything seems to be fine.

Anyone knows any reasons why it happens and how i can solve the problems out?

Thanks,

Are you watching it boot up? If so, what is taking a long time? Can you disable the rc script for it?

It is just very slow after I enter password to get access my home partition (I encrypt home partition). Since then, everything gets slow. But everything is fine with kernel 2.6.29.6

In order to boot as normal, I have to go to BIOS settings, change SATA controller mode to compatibility instead of AHCI. Then, it works with kernel 2.6.32.2 (current 2.6.32.3)

Hope it helps anyone with toshiba netbook that is installed Slackware
