USB Modem In Slack10.1

I installed Slack10.1 on my friend's computer (he dual boots) but cannot get the USB Cable Modem to work.

Is it even possible, and if so, HOW?

What's the model of the modem?

In order to research this issue, we need more info.
There may be a specific fix for that cable modem for linux, maybe not.
