upgrading poppler to version 20.12.0 renders okular unusable

Is it just me? Upgraded poppler to version 20.12 (4th December) and okular immediately stopped working.

From the command line

Quote:
bash-5.0# okular example.pdf
org.kde.okular.core: Invalid plugin factory for "/usr/lib64/qt5/plugins/okular/generators/okularGenerator_poppler.so":"Cannot load library /usr/lib64/qt5/plugins/okular/generators/okularGenerator_poppler.so: (libpoppler.so.104: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"
Code:
bash-5.0# ldd /usr/lib64/qt5/plugins/okular/generators/okularGenerator_poppler.so

[...]
libQt5Gui.so.5 => /usr/lib64/libQt5Gui.so.5 (0x00007f72592f6000)
libQt5Core.so.5 => /usr/lib64/libQt5Core.so.5 (0x00007f7258da8000)
libpoppler.so.104 => not found
libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 (0x00007f7258bdb000)
[...]
Symlinking libpoppler.so.104 to libpoppler.so.105 solves the problem

You are right! The bad thing is that I now remember reading this thread yesterday...

Poppler is one of those programs where .so bumps can break a few things. AlienBob created a poppler-compat package, but for some reason he hasn'e updated it since last year. However, with his poppler-compat buildscript and the poppler packages from slackware.uk/cumulative it's easy to create a fresh package.
EDIT updated poppler-compat package in https://slackware.nl/people/alien/sb...urrent/x86_64/
Thanks, Eric!
