Upgraded Tin newsreader for next Slackware release

Hi,

Slackware 14.0 still has a very old Tin newsreader: version 1.8.3 from 2007.

There's a new stable version 2.0.1 in http://www.tin.org/ from the 24th of December 2011 and an unstable 2.1.2 from the 24th of December of 2012.
I ask volkerdi and other maintainers to please include one of these versions in current and in the next release.

Is the Usenet still in use today? Duke University shut down their service in 2010.

Usenet the way it should be: no porn, no warez.

I'm surprised Slackware even includes Tin. Didn't everyone who wants a text-based newsreader switch to slrn 15 years ago?

Anyway, a request like "Please upgrade Tin to the latest stable version" (an entirely reasonable one) is best sent to Pat directly.
