Thunar 1.6.10 with xfce 4.12 crashes (freezes) on any click
I've been using Slack 14.2 64 bit w/multilib for some years, thunar just gets worse and worse. After opening, maybe one or two operations (file clicks) it freezes up and no clicks are responsive. I mean ANY click.
Lots of bugs in thunar referenced online, but mostly on 'rename' or some specific operation. Not useful to me.
I'm certainly not a guru, and do not have time to research all the ins and outs of thunar, much less xfce. Thunar seems to have a rather shaky interface, at best.
This comment of mine is intended as information for whoever is interested in repairing this problem, not as a request for detailed help procedures. Obviously thunar is sick.

No problem is clearly described in your post, and nothing you wrote can lead to think that Thunar is sick. Most probably if there is a problem in your installation, you caused it.
I am with Didier on this.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence,
Thunar is my go to file manager. I cannot replicate here.
Lack of responsiveness from Thunar might suggest a disk hardware problem.
Well, I should have tried this before posting, I apologize.
I 'updated' Slackware 14.2 with:
slackpkg upgrade (got lists)
then executed the upgrade all ? exact syntax forgotten.
Anyway, after a *lot* of downloads and installs, rebooted, and Thunar is
now 'behaving'. No more freezed - so far. If this continues I will mark
it as 'solved'.
Don't know why you're dissing the OP. Thunar 1.6 and prior does indeed freeze at random times. The only fix is to close the process and open it again.
I've had the same problem for many version prior to 1.6 aswell. Thunar is an unreliable FM.

Lat post in this thread is 3 years old and marked as [SOLVED] by the OP. If you want to bring an issue you have please create a new thread.
