Other than that, everything done on this box works as it should.
The 5.15-rc4 kernel built without error and is installed using -current with the Nvidia-Linux-x86_64-470.74 driver and VirtualBox test build-6.1.27-147118. It is still blanking the screen, as described above, but it now only for 7 seconds.

Another batch of updates has been scheduled for release on Wednesday, 6 October 2021, at approximately 12:00, GMT. If no problems are found while testing the release candidates, they might be available sometime on Tuesday (depending on your time zone).
Distribution: Slackware64 15.0 (started with 13.37). Testing -current in a spare partition.

Could this be commented line "compact" in lilo.conf?
The lines with dots I'm sure, but the 7 seconds blank I don't know what could be.

I've been on the injured/reserve list for about a week.
Managed to build and install 5.14.10 on Slackware64-14.2 today without issue.
Testing/using now, looks OK
