startup daemons?


Where can i edit what daemons start up on startup and what ones dont.

I'm using fluxbox

Do you mean start certain services on boot, or on login to Fluxbox?

services on boot.... for example, OpenSSH, Apache, etc


Where can i edit which ones of these start up and which dont?

Go into /etc/rc.d directory and do a ls -l, see the permissions

The principle is simple, if a file is executable, it will be executed at boot

You can also add your own services at the bottom of rc.local in the above directory.

I'd like a list of available services too..... any way of getting that?

Available services would be whatever is on that machine, program wise...
